You have played a critical role in the ELF context. The ELF’s have evolved over time, but we went through turbulent times. It was always great to have you on board to provide us with your objective views and feedback on the dynamics and behaviours that played out during sessions. You allowed for open and transparent feedback to members. It is also fact that RE’s or Chairs needed your input and feedback as to how to run the ELF or composition of agendas. One must also not forget what a wonderful contribution you have made in facilitating planning sessions during the year to determine strategic themes. You have singlehandedly planned many of these sessions and steered the members in the correct direction. Always allowed us to come to certain conclusions and decisions. Your role as facilitator was invaluable!

“I have met Adrian some seven years ago and got to know him quite well over this period of time. He was an OD specialist for the Absa Group based in the Western Cape. Adrian’s role, as I experience it at the Executive Leadership Forum, a meeting held monthly and attended by the senior leadership of Absa in the Western Cape, was to constantly assess and interpret the team behaviour. He would be highly effective at constantly making the links to the strategies and bigger Absa Group picture and would play a stunning role in guiding and coaching the meeting with respect to their specific objectives and respective roles and responsibilities. He always ensures that the accountability remains at individual level where it belongs. I have also used Adrian on a number of occasions during interventions with my own management team. Team behaviour and team dynamics were expertly guided and coached in an effort to improve team relationships and team spirit. The art of exposing those individuals not taking up their roles effectively, without direct confrontation is one that Adrian has truly mastered. These individuals would also be guided in understanding what was needed to change behaviours. Adrian demonstrated his skills on a number of occasions where it was expected of him to assist in aligning strategies and thinking of different business units. The underlying theme of change were once again managed and facilitated by Adrian he guided bigger groups of staff in understanding the benefits of working closer together in order to improve efficiencies with respect to customer experience. My most recent journey with Adrian was one of having him perform the role as my personal couch. Once again Adrian demonstrated that he truly mastered the skill of assisting, being at personal level or group level, in exposing those issues and obstacles that prevent one from performing at your maximum level and capacity. He will with great care and skill guide one’s thinking in exploring and identifying the appropriate actions to address these. His ability to pick up on incidents and topics and then use the storyline in highlighting the pertinent behavioural components and point out the consistency with which these occur is remarkable. He would create great top of mind awareness and provide great couching in providing the mechanisms that can be used to develop the those areas that inhibit performance. Adrian will be an asset to any institution he performs work for and truly demonstrated his skills as coach, mentor and facilitator to me at personal level.

“I requested coaching from our HR department to assist me. I was then paired with Adrian. At the initial discussion I explained to Adrian that I feel I’ve reached my ceiling in terms of my career. I felt that I was dealing with the other areas of my life. I didn’t realise that the patterns of behaviour that affected my professional life were the exact same patterns that affected my personal life. When I explored and committed to making the best of the coaching, I was given the gift of improving all aspects of my life.
